Caroline Hissa is a community music leader and passionate advocate for the impact communal music-making has on our young people and communities.
Caroline holds a Master of Arts in Community Music from Wilfrid Laurier University, in addition to a Master of Christian Studies from Regent College at the University of British Columbia. She began playing the piano when she was seven years old and has since played the piano, the saxophone and the oboe in numerous community bands and orchestras.
Investing in her community is a value that Caroline holds near and dear to her heart. She has sat on the City of Kitchener’s Arts & Culture Advisory Committee and is involved in community projects ranging from gardens to welcoming newcomers and refugees.
“Community is what takes something theoretical and makes it real, something you can touch and feel and see make a difference – especially in the lives of kids. Getting to hear community grow through music-making at CMSWR is my favourite part of what I do.”

Isabell is in the final stages of earning her undergraduate degree in Music at Laurier; she hopes to continue her education and pursue graduate studies. Having had to overcome language and cultural barriers from a young age herself, Isabell understands how powerful of a connection tool music can be when created and shared together.
Isabell loves discovering and immersing herself in a variety of music styles. Voice is her primary instrument, and she loves to accompany herself on piano, guitar, or bass. Through her time at the CMSWR, she has really enjoyed learning to teach vocals and facilitate group singing. She is dedicated to her work, and hopes to continue learning to better serve the music school.
